The PSMAS stand at the Harare Show received a major boost this year with the visit of His Excellency President Robert Mugabe visited for the first time ever.

In a stunning nod to the work that the PSMAS has been putting in behind the scenes in order to reaffirm its position as the major medical aid service provider in Zimbabwe, the President made the PSMAS stand his FIRST PORT OF CALL.

The opportunity was not lost as the team at the stand took the Head of State and government on a tour of the services provided by PSMAS as well as its investment arm, PSMI.

The PSMAS Board Chairman Mr Jeremiah Bvirindi, who welcomed the President to the stand and handed over the tour to the Managing Director of PSMI Dr Farai Muchena, was delighted.

“Your Excellency, it is our honour and pleasure to have you at the PSMAS stand. We thank you for taking the time to visit us,” he said as the President rounded off his tour of the award winning stand.

PSMAS MD Mr Tendai Kapumha was pleased by the patron’s visit and he said it showed that the government believed in the process that PSMAS was undertaking to re-establish itself as the leader in medical aid.

The Society’s head of Communications and Stakeholder Relations Ms Mavis Gumbo, who coordinated the visit said it was always a pleasure to have the Commander in Chief visit the stand. This visit was a first for His Excellency and was covered extensively on national television and in the print media.

Earlier in the week, Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko had toured the stand and applauded the work that PSMAS was doing. Minister of State in Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s office Hon. Clifford Sibanda also paid a visit to the stand, standing in for the Vice President who had gone to attend his brother’s funeral.
